Four Seasons Acupuncture
& Healing Arts
Traditional Chinese Medicine
Commonly referred to as TCM, this encompasses acupuncture, cupping, guasha, herbs, massage, qi gong, moxibustion, & nutrition. Each treatment plan is specifically tailored to the individual needs of the patient. While some treatments are focused purely on physiology, others may be focusing on emotions, mentality, a person's spirit or all of the above. These treatments may include song therapy, reiki, visualization, aromatherapy, ancestor communication, or specific nature prescriptions.
Seasonal Health
TCM views the body as an ecosystem. The medicinal framework itself is inherently interlinked with seasonal changes. Based on how a particular season plays out, an observant Chinese medical provider can know what type of health issues will show up in their community in the upcoming season. With climate change at play, nervous systems are being hit especially hard. Acupuncture treats the body via the nervous sytem. As a 5,000 year old medicine, it has stood the test of time and remains the medicine of our present and our future.

What To Expect-Sliding Scale
Each session is between 25 minutes- 1 hour long. Make sure to wear loose fitting clothes (pants that can roll up past the knee and shirts that can roll up past the elbows.) Please make sure to eat food and drink water beforehand. We begin each session with an intake regarding your symptoms, new and old. This will also include a tongue and pulse diagnosis. The acupuncture treatment takes place lying down clothed on a massage table. Japanese style insertion is practiced, a technique to make each treatment as comfortable as possible. Once the needles are in, you may feel a warm, tingling or pulsing sensation. Children or very needle sensitive patients will be treated with contact needling. This is a Japanese modality that is just as effective as acupuncture, yet does not involve actual insertion of the needles. For most treatments, the practitioner will dim the lights and give you space while the needles do their magick. She will remain right outside the door, check on you, and pull the needles after treatment. She may recommend nutrition, herbs, teas, lifestyle, exercises, acupressure, visualizations, etc.
You may feel sleepy or emotional after your session. You may feel energized, relaxed and clear. Effects from acupuncture tend to be very strong for the first three days. Coming in consistently and frequently on a weekly basis (over the course of a few weeks for an acute issue, and a few months for a chronic issue) will generate the best results.
We look forward to working with you!
Sliding Scale
In order to accomodate California's many different patients of many different means, we offer a sliding scale. For those who can afford to pay at the top end of the scale, you are helping someone at the lower end to access affordable health care. Treatments are $90-$290, depending on your income. Special rates can be offered to old patients from Kuljis Acupuncture.
I will be in network with Kaiser, MediCal, MediCare and Cigna. Call to see if your insurance is accepted. Please bring cash or check.

Testimonials
"After my second appointment, earlier this afternoon, my initial complaint has shifted so that my shoulder is pain-free, and my toothache has subsided. I am working with my body to regain pain free mobility and am relaxed enough to work with the energies. Thank you so much, see you soon!"
"I love Miss Lara. Her is beautiful and her song is beautiful and I want to play with her every day."
"This sliding scale fills a real need for those of us who benefit from acupuncture, but who cannot afford to pay what most acupuncturists in private practice ask. Lara Foy is well-educated, very knowledgeable and provides excellent care. She is genuinely concerned about each client. She takes the time to really listen, and also asks whether or not the last treatment helped to reduce or eliminate their symptoms. The room is cozy and comfortable. Come check it out!"
"I found Lara during a massive transition in my life, moving to a new city and taking on an extremely challenging job in human services. When she began treating me, I struggled with sleep disturbances nightly, depression and anxiety, and side effects of ADHD that were impacting my ability to be successful, as well as extreme sweating. This was my first experience with accupuncture, and I had no clue what to expect. What I experienced was a human who was fully present with me, genuinely wanted to help, and assisted me with exploring what I needed and how we could get there. She created a safe space that kickstarted the healing for my system, most importantly my nervous system. It created accountability for my wellness, and I looked forward to our weekly appointments. When I discovered Lara did massage, we built this in a few times, and what a glorious experience that was. I had been dealing with chronic headaches for months due to mold exposure, and she provided some much needed relief until my circumstances could change. If you are looking for a compassionate, safe, knowledgeable human to help you on your healing journey, you are in the right place."
