Montpelier Community Acupuncture is committed to being a safe, accessible and inclusive place for all races, sexes, religions, sexual orientations, gender identities, classes, and political persuasions. We are here to help alleviate the suffering of all who walk through our door. For many in our nation, the current political climate is generating a collective trauma. Please take care of yourselves this season, and all seasons. This weekend in particular, take some time for self care. Here is a handy list to refer to should you need ideas/reminders:
-Take a bath. Throw in epsom salts. Throw in rose petals or lavendar, or any essential oils. Throw in seashells so you can feel like a merperson.
-Write. If you don't already have a journal, find a beautiful one this weekend and write your thoughts and feelings down. Eloquence and talent are unimportant here. This is for you to make sense of your feelings, to get them out of you and onto the page, and to have a historical log for the future.
-Practice your art. Do you love to sculpt, play guitar, cook, dance, drum, knit, paint, collage, sing...? Whatever you love to do creatively, now is a time for expression.
-Do something you love. Maybe this is running, going to the gym or the farmer's market or watching a movie. You know what you love to do. Go do it!
-Surround yourself with loved ones.
-Sleep if you need to sleep, scream if you need to scream (just not at anyone!), watch a comedy if you just need to laugh, etc. Watch your own rhythms and respond accordingly.
-Make a list of what you are grateful for.
-Spend some time in nature.
And of course, consider coming in for a treatment. We are here Fridays 8AM-8PM and we're here for you.
