It was 78 degrees in Montpelier yesterday! Spring is upon us! As the temperatures shift, so do people's energy levels, sleep cycles, activity levels and emotions. A lot of people are coming in having just thrown out their back from their first vigorous exercise of the year. Take it slowly! Though the climate may be on a fast track, we are still organic beings that need to move slow and steady to maintain optimum health. Make sure to stretch before and after exercising. Stay hydrated, and make sure to wind down at the end of the day. Limiting screen use to before 8:00 PM and being in bed before 11:00 PM can be really helpful for sleep. Enjoy your time outside, and remember to keep the thaw in mind. Thaw slowly into the spring and being in outward motion rather than running full force into it. This will preserve your energy so that you can have a more fulfilling summer.
